ARE YOU FUTURE READY?
I am a Medical Student at Lucy Cavendish College (Cambridge) with a passion to educate and inspire the upcoming generations to achieve academic excellence. Before Medicine, I studied a Masters' in Chemistry at the University of Birmingham, and had the privilege of studying abroad at the National University of Singapore (NUS) to undertake research.
I have been involved in mentoring and tutoring in various capacities for the past 6 years, and have accrued multiple sucesses from Oxbridge University offers to achieving outstanding A level predicted grades.
I specialise in tutoring Chemistry and Maths A level, as well preparing tutees for the Oxbridge (and Russel Group) Medical admissions process. I adopt a problem based-learning style with all of my students to inspire intellectual curiosity, independence, and higher order thinking skills. As a first generation BME student, I am also highly motivated to encourage tutees who identify with this group to pursue excellence and aim higher.
If you are looking for a stimulating yet supportive and relaxed learning environment then do get in touch and book an introductory consultation. It's time to achieve those goals, and work towards creating a future that is much greater than you ever imagined.

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.
MY THEORY OF TUTORING
The tutoring experience is as much about learning as it is about building a relationship. I make it my priority to get to know my tutees personally in order to create bespoke tutoring sessions that cater to their individual learning styles and academic needs. As much as I love seeing my students thrive academically, I also take thought of their mental, social and emotional health, all of which can become severely compromised in the midst of exam stress and academic pressure.
A huge part of my tutoring technique also includes inspiring confidence. I am most fulfilled when my tutees grow in knowledge, but also in self esteem. I seek to help my tutees to develop a positive can-do attitude towards learning, and find the intrinsic motivation that keeps them going through the challenging times. A resilient and steadfast mindset is essential for being prepared for the many challenges that will arise in the future.
Joanne supported and motivated me through my application process. I've received an offer from Cambridge University to study Medicine!
Joanne is such an awesome maths teacher! She is nice, kind, attentive to my needs, and she knows her stuff. I learn so much from our sessions together and it shows in my grades.
Thank you so much for the advice and preparing me for my medical interviews at UCL and King’s College London!
